PIBT and Navitas Workforce Solutions is proud to offer the ACS Professional Year Program, Engineering Education Australia’s Professional Year in Engineering and the Skilled Migration Internship Program – Accounting (SMIPA) on behalf of the following professional bodies: Australian Computer Society, Engineers Australia, CPA Australia, Institute of Public Accountants and Chartered Accountants.

21st April 2012 – Saturday class
25th June 2012 – Mon + Wed class
25th August 2012 – Saturday class
27th November 2012 – Tues + Thurs class

Skills assessments - follow these links for information:

Accounting - CPA; IPA (previously NIA) and CA. Depending on the association, skills assessments take 1-4 weeks. Generally, the shorter the assessment turnaround time, the higher the cost.
IT - ACS Engineering - EEA. Note that prospective PY participants apply directly through Engineering Education Australia.

The PROFESSIONAL YEAR PROGRAM was developed by DIAC together with Australian professional bodies to address Australia’s skill shortages in nominated occupations. The Professional Year Program is designed to assist international student graduates gain employment in their chosen career, as well as give eligibility for migration points towards permanent residence. Over 44 weeks, participants will develop their workplace skills and complete a vocational placement (practical internship) to enhance their career prospects in Australia in the following professions:

  • IT - Australian Computer Society (ACS) Professional Year Program
  • Engineering - Engineering Education Australia’s Professional Year in Engineering
  • Accounting - Skilled Migration Internship Program – Accounting (SMIPA).

The Professional Year Program

  • 44 weeks, as gazetted by DIAC
  • CV preparation & interview skills
  • Professional training specific to the industry
  • Business communication
  • Australian work practices
  • Vocational placement (work experience) for 12 weeks

  • Upon completion of the program participants will also receive a nationally accredited Certificate III in Business.
  • Participants will receive interview coaching and employment assistance from NWS.
