Reading Adult Learning Activities - California Distance Learning Project This website contains short reading texts on a range of topics from the news. Each text has reading and vocabulary exercises. Visitors to the website can also listen to the story being read and view videos. This website includes links to reading passages from a textbook about the USA. Each reading passage is timed and includes ten comprehension questions. A great site for those who want to improve their reading speed. English Works ESL Reading Exercises Contains a variety of short reading passages complete with interactive activities. There are also cloze exercises to help learners practice guessing for inference. A nicely presented website that helps learners improve their reading skills including skimming and scanning skills. Each module consists of a tutorial on the skill followed by an interactive quiz and further practice. This website contains news stories on many interesting topics. Language learners can read the full story, an abridged story (shorter) or a story outline. There are learning activities to help improve language skills. Reading passages aimed at English language learners that contain interactive exercises such as multiple choice questions. Materials are organised according to levels of difficulty. |
