NOTE: PIBT conducts 3 trimesters per calendar year: February; June and October. Most courses can be completed in 2 trimesters when taking 4 units per semester.

1. Fees

1.1. A full time study load is equivalent to four units.
1.2. Tuition fees, charges and accounts are payable in advance of each trimester/semester.
1.3. Students are not permitted to commence a trimester/semester until all outstanding fees, charges and accounts issued by PIBT or ECU are paid.
1.4. The total tuition fees stated in an Offer Letter are indicative only and are based on a full time study load for one trimester/semester. The final tuition fees incurred may vary depending on unit selections, study load and promptness of payment. Students will receive a credit to their account where the incurred tuition fees are less than the amount paid in advance.
1.5. PIBT has the right to increase tuition fees and charges from time-to time without notice.
1.6. Students enrolling in a second or subsequent trimester/semester at PIBT will be notified of the date by which payment and enrolment must be completed. Failure to enrol by the notified date may incur a penalty fee as detailed in the Results & Re-enrolment flyer.
1.7. Certain courses require the purchase of specialised equipment and/or clothing.
1.8. Should it be necessary for a student to repeat a unit, the full amount will be charged.
1.9. There is a 1.5% surcharge on credit card payments.

2. Payment deadlines

2.1 Unless determined otherwise, the due dates for payment of all fees payable are:
New International students: date shown on the Letter of Offer;
New Domestic students: date shown on the Letter of Offer;
Continuing International students: Close of Business (COB) on Friday prior to commencement of semester as shown on provisional invoice;
Continuing Domestic students: Close of Business (COB) on Friday prior to commencement of semester as shown on provisional invoice.

3. Response for non-payment of fees/non-enrolment in units

Failure Timing Response
Non-payment of tuition fees for continuing students By Monday of Week 0 of semester If PIBT does not receive fees due before enrolment opens for the semester, the student will automatically go on the Instalment Plan.
  1. The student will be sent a letter on Monday Week 1 of semester stating they have been placed on the Instalment Plan.
  2. A non-refundable 'Instalment Fee' of $200.00 will be charged to their account which covers the extra work and costs to set up the Instalment Plan. The student will pay their fees in two instalments:
    • First instalment - 50% of fees due by Friday Week 2 of semester
    • Second instalment - remainder of fees due by Friday Week 8 of semester
  3. If the student fails to pay the first instalment or the second instalment by the due date, they will be reported to DIAC for non-payment of fees. What this means is that the student visa may be cancelled and the student may not be able to return to Australia for 3 years.
  4. No other agreements or payment plans are available to students;
  5. The Hardship Payment Scheme (HPS) has been replaced by the Instalment Plan scheme; no application for the Instalment Plan is required.
Non-enrolment in units for continuing students By Monday of Week 1 of semester Students will be able to enrol in their units even if they have not paid fees.
  1. If the student does not enrol in their units before Monday of Week 1 of semester, a non-refundable 'Late Enrolment Fee' of $200.00 will be charged to their account;
    • The 'Late Enrolment Fee' covers the extra work involved in changing class sizes, rooms, timetabling, class rolls and teacher recruitment.
  2. If the student does not enrol in their units before Monday of Week 1 of semester, they will be at risk of:
    • missing classes which may result in attendance falling below 80% (attendance is taken from the first day of semester whether or not units have been chosen);
    • breaching visa conditions (PIBT are obliged to report students to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship [DIAC]); and
    • limiting their timetable options when selecting units.
